Olerai Manyatta Community Based Organisation
Olerai
The identity of the organization is deeply rooted in the heritage of the indivisible Maa community. The name Olerai refers to a local, umbrella-like tree that carries profound cultural meaning and has a significant positive impact within the spheres of community life. In our mission, the strength of a woman is directly likened to the Olerai tree, which spreads its leaves and roots throughout the world-famous Maasai Mara of Kenya—recently recognized among the Seven Wonders of the World (2025).
This tree is called baobab growing naturally in a well-conserved environment, serves as a powerful symbol of community resilience, a deep love for nature and animals, and the essential values of living together as one.
